8 Things to Know if Your New to Born in a Barn!

1. How to get here! Parking & More!

The address is 415 Highway 14 East, Sheridan, WY. Parking is abundant, but it is in our hayfields, so it is not paved. It can be a bit of a walk as well, depending on when you arrive. Please do not park on the highway you will get towed!

When in doubt just listen to the Cowboys! Our parking lot wrangler crew is headed up by local rancher and outfitter, Tony Larsen.

We do have handicap parking! Let the Cowboys know when you pull in. Please do not park on the highway you will get towed, I had to say it twice cause it is really TRUE!

2. Gate Fee, Kids & Bathrooms

The gate opens at 10 AM and closes at 6 PM on both Friday and Saturday. If you’re waiting in line, keep an eye out for the Mimosa Mafia (we raised $13,000 with your help for the Welch Cancer Center or enjoy a coffee from the Columbian, my favorite coffee guy!

There is a $5 gate charge that helps pay for barn boys, cowboys, porta-potties, security, live music and so much more.

Children under 12 are free!

3. Pet Policy

No dogs (carried or on leash), rabbits, cats, snakes or lizards (yes, it really happened). I love em, have em, wish they didn’t kill chickens or bite people but they do and it is just too crowded.

The only dogs you will see on site are my own, official service dogs (not emotional support dogs, trained disability service dogs) or those brought by the St. Francis Shelter for adoption. There are no exceptions, you will not be allowed to bring a pet on site.

It is totally okay if you choose your pets over Born in a Barn, I get it, but it is a choice.

4. Music, Food & Drink

There is so much good food and beverages to choose from each day!! We kick the day off with coffee from the Columbian and mimosa’s from the Mimosa Mafia. 100% of the money spent on mimosa’s goes to the Welch Cancer Center thanks to our Champagn & OJ sponsor, First Northern Bank!! and Cup Sponsor American Outfitters!!

Lunch starts by 11:30 with delivious eats, craft beer and specialty cocktails available in the food field.

Live music orchestrated by Justin Beasley, starts at noon and continues on throughout the day!

5. Barn Boys & Buying Large Items

The worst part of shopping, especially with large items is loading them! Don’t worry, we have the perfect solution.

If you purchase large items they will be tagged with your name and contact info and picked up by the Barn Boys and taken to the Kubota Holding Pen so you can shop hands free! When you’re ready to leave you pull up to the pen, show your ticket stub and the Barn Boys will help you get all of your treasures loaded and secure.

Bring tie-downs (the boys know how to use them). And make sure you show them some love with a generous tip! They work very hard during the show, but they also help set up vendors, move out vendors, set up the food field and help me put it all away in the end!!

6. Paying for things

Speaking of $$. Cash is king out here!! We are in the valley of internet death so credit cards don’t always work. We have ATM’s on site, but they get drained sometimes too.

If possible, obtain your own fat stack of bills in advance, and your life and the vendors will be so much better!!

7. Wifi & Cell Service

Cell service is slim to none out here. Unless you have AT&T, and then everyone will want to be your friend!

There is no public wifi. It can be hard to make and receive calls, so plan accordingly.

8. Vendor Lineup!

Finally, my vendor lineup each year keeps getting better and better. Expect to see a vast range of kinds of vendor. Everything from antiques, hand crafted furniture, art, jewelry and so much more.

To see photos of who will be here any given year, follow, borninabarnwyo on Facebook and Instagram!! We will post teasers as the show gets closer!

Thank you for thinking of Born in a Barn!!
